It's a good representation of all of middle earth. Not only shows LOTR and the hobbit, but his othere works as well. I bought this as a gift for a friend who is a huge Tolkien fan, he spent 20 minutes showing me where different events took place.

Q: Two questions -- Is the lettering clear and sharp? How far south does the map cover? it looks like the Bay of Belfalas area isn't all on the map.

The lettering is incredibly clear. the area of Belfalas is on the map but it doesn't show the bay. Nurn, Lebennin, Belfalas are the last sections shown

Q: What's the material? Silk? Or paper?

It's made from the usual poster paper.
